Working with the company transformed the way our team communicates. We've seen fewer workplace conflicts, stronger collaboration, and a noticeable improvement in team morale. The practical tools and strategies provided have become part of our daily culture.
About Us
We believe many of the negative communication habits—defensiveness, reactivity, avoidance, etc.—are a result of not feeling heard. This work is rooted in a desire to understand by staying curious in our communication and taking personal responsibility. If your goals include feeling safe and secure enough to speak your truth, honoring your feelings, asking for what you need, and appreciating conflict instead of avoiding it, we can help you achieve those goals.
Founder Story
Meet Ian
Years ago, I began a journey of self exploration with a simple question:
Why do so many people who care about each other struggle to feel understood?
As I searched for answers, I discovered that meaningful connection is not built on perfect communication. It is built on the willingness to understand ourselves, communicate honestly, and remain curious about the experiences of others. What started as a personal pursuit quickly became a passion for helping people strengthen their relationships, navigate conflict, and create environments where everyone feels heard.
Over time, I began developing practical tools and frameworks that helped individuals deepen self awareness, improve communication, and build stronger connections. As more people shared stories of meaningful change, it became clear that these tools had applications far beyond personal relationships.
That realization led to the creation of Helping The Heard.
Today, Helping The Heard works with individuals, families, workplaces, schools, universities, therapists, community organizations, and event communities to foster healthier communication and stronger human connection. Through workshops, speaking engagements, professional development trainings, therapeutic resources, coaching, and practical tools, we help people develop the skills necessary to navigate difficult conversations, reduce unnecessary conflict, strengthen collaboration, and create cultures of understanding.
Our work is grounded in a simple belief: when people feel heard, they are more likely to learn, grow, cooperate, heal, and contribute meaningfully to the communities around them.
Whether we are supporting a business seeking healthier workplace dynamics, equipping therapists with new resources for their clients, facilitating workshops at festivals and retreats, or speaking to students about communication and connection, our mission remains the same:
To provide practical tools that help people understand themselves, understand each other, and build stronger relationships wherever they live, work, learn, and gather.
Because a better conversation can change a relationship.
And enough better relationships can change a community.
